There will be a time to focus on live concert attendance again. Now is not that time. Please listen to guidance from health authorities, municipalities, and governments to help stop the spread of Covid-19.
WE ARE ALL IN LOCAL is a free business plan and strategy designed to empower local artists and bands with tools to help them increase attendance at their shows while affording themselves greater opportunities to perform along side national acts and guard themselves against pay to play practices.

WHAT IS PAY TO PLAY?
WHAT'S WRONG WITH PAY TO PLAY?
Pay to play was created in a time when record executives chomped on cigars in twentieth floor offices. It was designed as a way for talent scouts to showcase bands in front of label executives and A&R representatives in front of a guaranteed audience. By having the local supporting acts sell tickets to the show. The days of the cigar chomping record executive are long gone and today the model survives on greed and a lack of imagination. The true problem with pay to play isn't that it doesn't afford local bands and artists the opportunity to perform in front of larger audiences. But that it denies them a proper, enriching relationship with their fans. If you can imagine meeting any artist that you admire. And that experience was defined by that artist soliciting you directly to purchase a ticket to their next concert. This is what local bands and artists have been asked to do for decades, denying them the greatest reward of our craft.
Pay to play is defined by the act of an artist, band, or performer handing money to an agent, promoter, venue, or company in relation to a scheduled performance. Pay to play is dissimilar from an application fee, buy on, or facility rental as pay to play methods are generally used in congruence with a scheduled appearance and target the artists themselves. The most common pay to play method employed by companies is the pre sale ticket model where bands and artists are required to sell, or afforded the opportunity to sell in hopes of gaining favor, pre sale tickets to their own scheduled appearance. They then are required to hand money along with any unsold tickets back to the agent, club, company, or promoter.
